Summer 2024

These paintings were completed while in residence at Mass Art in Boston during the summer.

Fall/Spring 2024

A series of oil paintings on canvas and paper about repetition and deconstruction of the image into its essence. Influenced by Matisse's paintings and use of repetition.

2023-2024 Paintings

A sample of paintings from August 2023 and January 2024. Several consider the unknown. The others; a contemporary response to Matisse and a commentary on Painting. More paintings are part of this group.

Field of Green

Field of Green series, reference calm , space and the natural world . The paintings began June 2021. As the works progressed, the paintings become more minimal. Although the series began exclusively green, the hues expanded. The dominant material is pigment stick applied by hand.

Pandemic Series

A sample of oil paintings on paper from the pandemic. I was in the mountains of Mexico in February unaware of Covid-19. The work reflects the impact of the reality of the virus and social distancing from March 2nd, 2020 going forward.

The Other Side- 2018-2020

A sample of a series based on memories from childhood. Although the narrative inspiration is mine, the feelings from childhood are universal.

Neither Water nor Air-August 2018-2021.

A series about how ephemeral life can be, The painting fuse humor with deeper meaning .

The Inscrutables Dec, 2017 - June 2018

A visual journal of a year in my life. They were completed with the parameters of size being 38" x 38" and use of blue.

The collages are composed of torn and cut pieces of my own work reassembled to create something new.

Color Series, 2011-2015

A sample of paintings about the female body and politic.

      These galleries are works completed in the last 10 years. Separated by date and conceptual thrust much of the work explores the intersection of psychology and art.  The work considers female sexuality, mortality,  memory, and identity.
