Neither Water nor Air-August 2018-present.
I started this series September in Cape Cod while on residency. The calm of the work reflects a side of myself which feels moments of peace and serenity. The work, concerned with materiality, uses oil and cold wax and sometimes fabric. I create quiet, calm and elegant paintings with an extremely restrained palette. The works explore a minimal and subtle perspective.
Recent Collage II
After for years not seeing my collages and paintings as connected, I now recognize how much my collages influenced my paintings as the borders between the mediums disappear further. My collages are limited to using my own work saved over 20-50 years including papers that are 50 years old. On occasion, I may augment the work with a bead, a pearl or a small piece of magazine.
